BRAHMAPUR AKASHVANI RANGE EXTENDED TO 100 KM


The Prasar Bharati has extended the transmission range of the All India Radio (AIR)’s Brahmapur Akashvani Kendra to 10KWFMLRS recently.
According to information, the existing power transmitter of the Brahmapur AIR with 6KWFMLRS capacity was capable to transmit programmes within a radius of only 50 km. After expansion, now the people of whole of Ganjam district and many parts of southern Odisha residing within a radius of 100 km would be able to listen to all its broadcasting programmes.
Notably, former Deputy Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly and senior BJP leader Rama Chandra Panda had earlier met both Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javedkar and his successor Arun Jaitely at New Delhi and submitted a memorandum demanding an increase in existing transmission range of the Brahmapur AIR.
The Brahmapur Akashvani Kendra had been operational on April 1, 1993. Since then, it has become more popular among all its stakeholders by highlighting the rich tradition, art and culture of south region of the State.
